The workshop who took place in Yaoundé from September 21 to 23, 2026 aimed to enhance the transparency, accountability and credibility of stakeholders in the secondary wood processing sector and consolide their role in forest governance in Cameroon.
As part of the implementation of the regional project « Advancing forest and mining governance to reduce the contribution of the timber trade and mining-related forestry activities to deforestation in Ghana, Liberia, and Cameroon », Cameroonian Federation of Associations and Professionals in Secondary Wood Processing (FECAPROBOIS) organized a three-day training workshop in Yaoundé from September 21 to 23, 2026. This workshop focused on familiarizing participants with the federation’s manual of administrative, accounting and financial procedures. Initiated following an in-depth assessment of FECAPROBOIS’s internal management tools—prompted by the growth of its activities and evolving regulatory requirements—the training brought together around fifteen elected members from three key regions of Cameroon: Centre (Yaoundé), Littoral (Douala), and East (Garoua-Boulaï).
The event benefited from the exceptional participation of Mr. Emmanuel Kwasi, Chief Financial Officer of the Nature Development Foundation (NDF), who traveled specifically to Cameroon to support the Yaoundé project team, strengthen synergy within the consortium, and ensure that management practices align with the project’s international standards. The primary objective of this session was to equip association leaders with rigorous management tools. Through this initiative, FECAPROBOIS reaffirms its commitment to enhancing the transparency, accountability and credibility of stakeholders in the secondary wood processing sector, thereby consolidating their role in forest governance in Cameroon.
